Welcome to Lake Powell Fishing Guides. This National Park has been one
of the most scenic places in the United States to fly or use light tackle
for striped bass. With a coast line of 2,000 miles the possibilities are
endless for fantastic fishing and scenery on the Lake.
Lake Powell can be fished year round with prime time mid-April to November.
May, October & September would be considered prime time for Houseboat
trips and fishing. Imagine keeping all the comforts of home and your personal
fishing guide while we keep you into schools of stripers. Casting your
fly on a top water lure to a boiling school is the ultimate fishing experience
for many anglers. Many people visit Lake Powell during the off season
for great fishing and of course the scenery. Some of the many scenic Canyons
to fish are Last Chance, Dirty Devil, Navajo and up Lake the San Juan
Arm fishing Neskahl Wash up to Zahn Bay. With the current lower waters
these past two years and most probably occurring for the next 3 years,,
Lake Powell will produce a boom in bait fish and larger fish for all species.
There are many areas on the Lake that were not accessible and now we are
finding fish in these areas that have not been fished for many years.
Many of the "long timers" are predicting 50+ lb fish these year
that will be caught.
Lake Powell offers great fishing for striped bass, smallmouth, largemouth,
walleye and some crappie. The average striper for early spring is 5 lbs;
for smallmouth 2lbs. The average striper for late spring through July
15 if 3-6 lbs with the average striper increasing to 5 lb by early September
and 6-10 lbs by November. The Boils for striped bass usually start up
Lake in late May or June and move down the Lake as Summer continues on
into Fall. The moon phases are watched closely for best fishing times.
The upper part of the Lake will provide boils during this entire time
which is what every Angler looks for.
Make Lake Powell your next angling experience in the Southwest. Whether
a Day or an extended Houseboat and fishing excursion, the memory will
last forever.
Memories last a lifetime
